Gameball Run 2014
The "good ole fashion hate" between Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia was temporarily put on hold Friday, November 28th, before the football teams met between the hedges that Saturday. The Mu Chapter teamed up with the Gamma Alpha Chapter from Georgia Tech in the Annual Gameball Run to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Mu Brothers met the Gamma Alpha Brothers in Lawrenceville to begin their 47 mile portion of the run. (Below: Mu Brother, Hunter Garrett, leaving Lawrenceville)
This years event was coordinated by Philanthropy Chairmen, Alex Croy and Chase Griffin and was a great success. The brothers all pile onto a Charter bus and take turns running the ball behind a police escort all the way back to Athens. Avid runner and Mu Chapter Senior, Alex Kellams, ran close to 15 miles during the event. When asked why he ran so much he said, "When else do you get the chance to run behind a police car and block traffic for philanthropy?" (Below: Kellams preparing for his run)
The Gameball Run is one of the best traditions at Sigma Nu. At some points the mileage seems long and the time seems to be running too fast, but every year the brothers come together and finish every inch.
