Fellow Brothers and Alumni of Mu Chapter, Leaving the month of February means entering spring break, warm weather, and being able to wear flip flops to class. Here is the monthly update for Mu Chapter! |
Wells Ellenberg Speaks On Campus |
Picture Source: Society of Government Relations at UGA This past month, past Commander Wells Ellenberg came to speak with the Society of Government Relations at the University of Georgia. Several active brothers were in attendance to listen about how he grew into the position of Vice President of Corporate Communications at Southern Gas Company, navigating through different roles and establishing important connections. Jack Bynum (Mu 2888) who attended the speech said that he highlighted the role these relationships played in shaping his career and contributing to his success. After dispersing advice he has learned so far in his career, Wells reflected on his time at the University of Georgia emphasized the enduring impact of the connections he formed during his college years, especially through Sigma Nu. We look forward to having Wells come speak to our active Chapter at the beginning of April! – Harrison Lee |
Leap Day Party |
The brothers of Mu Chapter decided to take a leap and celebrate the once in every four year occurrence at the end of February with a Leap Day Party. With a spectacular performance from Underground Springhouse and Tommy 2000, we were all able to get in the mood for Woodstock coming up in a few weeks and say goodbye to the cold month of February. Shenanigans with face painting and frog themed decorations took place while the sweet sounds of Bob Marley and Widespread Panic played from the stage down below at the Chateau. Thank you to all who came and made the event possible! – Will Hearn |
Philanthropy Philanthropy was great for the month of February, thanks to our diligent Philanthropy Chair AJ Stevenson (Mu 2887). AJ made efforts with brothers at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia to help sort food donations, and also took initiative within the chapter to host our very own donation drive. Brothers donated cans of goods, toiletries, and more to make an impact in the Athens community. In addition, the brothers who live in the house as well as the freshman had a group clean up with the other Greek Park Circle fraternities. Together, River Road became cleaner and more environmentally safe. – Philip Wilder |
